Learning and listening both have to be done without effort, without an outside drive. Most modern school systems thrive on drive, competition in exams.Exam’s are actually only a part of your school experience. I bet that many hours in many classrooms the teacher is not driven to teach by that same competitive drive.
When you teach a newborn in the first year of her life do you use any drive, or is the baby learning effortlessly? A parent may be driven by competition or fear to teach the baby.
Western world, and Stoicism too I believe, always look for a drive to proceed our actions. But do we need that, can’t we just live effortlessly.
